Red Raspberry Leaf Tea

Hello,

I've been trying to conceive for about 1.5 years, and about 9 weeks ago I finally became pregnant. Unfortunately, I miscarried a week ago (fetal heartbeat stopped). I've been drinking red raspberry leaf in hopes of strengthening/nourishing my uterus in preparation for trying again. I've read a lot of great things about the herb (some controversy for taking it in first trimester), but I've just come across some info that says that women with endo should be avoiding it, as it is "estrogen like". I haven't been officially diagnosed with endo via laporoscopy, but the vaginal ultra sounds have picked up a few small ovarian cysts that seem to stick around from cycle to cycle. Likely minor endometriosis. So my question is, is red raspberry leaf tea safe to drink for women with endo?

Any insights will help as i'm trying to regain balance after the miscarriage...

thanks, katie

SMARTgirl

Hi Katie,

You should use EstroSmart 2x day and EstroSmart Plus 2x a day. This will help get rid of your cysts and the vitex in the plus is good for fertility.

You should get your thyroid tested as if it is above 2, you will not be able to carry to term and there is not point in fertility treatments. The same goes for iron levels. Make sure you post the results.

Certain hormonal or immune imbalances and other lifestyle factors may result in miscarriages. *Progesterone levels need to be high enough to keep you pregnant. *Estrogen levels that are too high *Stress and anxiety also need to be addressed. If your cortisol (stress hormone) levels are too high, your liver and pituitary gland will be affected. *Alcohol lowers the quality of your eggs and consuming alcohol while pregnant can cause a miscarriage or birth defects. *Autoimmune disorders, such as Celiac Disease can hinder your ability to conceive.

Good Nutrients: *Eat lots of Veggies and good fats *Chaste Tree Berry (aka Vitex – the fertility herb) *Take a good Multi Vitamin, Folic Acid and DHA *Protein *Chirositol for PCOS *Iron *D-Glucarate

If you are feeling iffy about the raspberry tea, cut back. Address potential endocrine disrupters in your home and environment and post your test results!
